Typhoon 29er UK National Championships

Charlie and Rachel – 29er Q&A

Typhoon International

July 12, 2023

We asked Charlie and Rachel a few questions in the build-up to next week’s Typhoon 29er National Championships. Charlie and Rachel are our mixed pair, both excited for the sunny weather and racing against some tough competition in a much broader fleet than usual.

Charlie

What will you be wearing for the Typhoon Nationals?

At the 29er Nationals, I will be wearing my Typhoon SS Rash Vest, Caliso3 Long Johns and Typhoon Raceline4 Boots. However, if the weather is a bit cold, I will be also wearing my Caliso3 Top.

What is your favourite bit of Typhoon kit and why?

I will, of course, be wearing my Typhoon Chesil Buoyancy Aid, which is my favourite piece of kit, as it fits really well, and has a cut-out for a harness hook which is particularly handy for me as the crew and has a good front pocket for snacks!

What are you most looking forward to at this year’s Nationals?

I am looking forward to close racing and sailing in hot weather.

Rachel

What will you be wearing for the Typhoon Nationals?

At this summer’s 29er Nationals, I will be wearing my Caliso3 Eco Long Long and Top, Chesil Buoyancy Aid, Raceline4 Boots and my Tresta Visor!

What is your favourite bit of Typhoon kit and why?

Without a doubt, my favourite bit of Typhoon kit is the long John, being designed bespoke for women, they are a great fit, and the superior neoprene means that I haven’t had any issues with being too cold or too warm this year. My second favourite bit of kit is the Raceline4 Boots, they are great for hiking and the laces provide flexibility in the size to fit socks underneath.

What are you most looking forward to at this year’s Nationals?

At this year’s nationals, I am most looking forward to racing against a larger more diverse fleet than normal whilst still being on home waters.
